Novice shooters who would like to experience hunting for the first time will benefit greatly from taking a rifle course! This course is a great addition to a basic hunters education course, taught in a relaxed atmosphere, by experienced instructors who are hunters themselves.

From the basics all the way up to precision rifle, this course will cover everything a new shooter needs to know to get accurate shots from up close, and long distance. Experience hunting in a whole new way when you understand what the bullet does from the instant you pull the trigger, to the time it stops moving.

Course length is 14-16 hours. DO NOT BRING LIVE AMMUNITION INTO THE CLASSROOM!

You will need to bring:

  • This course is done over 2 days, usually on a weekend. For the first day only the rifle you intend to shoot should be brought to the classroom. Do NOT bring ammunition into the classroom. Live ammunition may only be carried onto the range.

  • Basic firearms safety
  • Rifle selection
  • Functionality of semi-automatics, bolt, and lever actions

  • Ammunition choices

Completion of this course is not a substitute for Missouri hunter education. It is intended to build on to that course.
