NoneThe shotgun is an intimidating firearm to many. Having substantially more recoil than most firearms, it is under utilized in both defense, and hunting. If you are a new shooter and wish to learn about the shotgun and the proper way to handle, aim, and use this firearm, this course should be your first step. Thousands of hunters use the shotgun every year during hunting season, and thousands more pass over hunting seasons that utilize the shotgun. Don't miss out on hunting season again because you were intimidated by this firearm!

Course length is 14-16 hours. DO NOT BRING LIVE AMMUNITION INTO THE CLASSROOM!

You will need to bring:

  • This course is done over 2 days, usually on a weekend. For the first day only the shotgun you intend to shoot should be brought to the classroom. Do NOT bring ammunition into the classroom. Live ammunition may only be carried onto the range.

  • Aiming at stationary targets
  • Aiming at moving targets
  • Live fire exercise
  • Range adjustments

Completion of this course is not a substitute for Missouri hunter education. It is intended to build on to that course.
