NoneTactical use of restraints may be a fundamental part of the execution of your duties. In order to reduce liability to bail agents, surety agents, police departments, and private security significant training is required. This course will certify each successful participant in the use of restraints by an industry leader, recognized around the world for it's training and products. ASP has long been one of the most innovative manufacturers of tactical restraints.
This course is taught by ASP certified instructors, to give you the credibility that you need to use these devices.

This course is conducted using the ASP curriculum, and MUST follow the ASP guidelines for the course.

Course length is 8-9 hours.

DO NOT BRING:
  • Firearms or Ammunition
  • OC Spray
  • Knives of any type
  • Batons
  • Any other weapon, even though not listed
  • An EMPTY duty belt is permitted
    • THE INSTRUCTOR WILL PAT DOWN EACH STUDENT.

You will need to bring:

  • At least one set of handcuffs. Two is optimal (1 chain set, 1 hinged set or 1 rigid set)
  • Eye protection rated z-71 or z-87 (Check the lens or frame for z-71 or z-87, we have loaners)
  • Training handcuffs, if you have them.
  • Carrying case/pouch for your handcuffs
  • Handcuff key

This course DOES qualify for 4 hours of CEU training required by Missouri Department of Professional Registration.

  • Will there be role play in this course?
  • Yes. each participant will take turns being restrained or applying the restraints. This is done to ensure that each participant applies the restraints properly, and verbalizes their commands
  • I am not a licensed security professional, may I still take this course?
  • If you can provide proof that your employment authorizes you to use restraints you may take this course.
  • I do not currently own any restraints, may I still take this course?
  • Yes, we can provide loaner restraints for your course participation.
  • I attempted to buy restraints and the vendor would not sell them to me. How can I purchase restraints?
  • Many vendors will not sell handcuffs/batons/TASER's/body armor to a individuals. We will advise you on the best way to resolve your particular situation.
  • I am a sworn law enforcement officer, licensed to carry a firearm. Must I disarm before attending class?
  • Yes, all participants, regardless of licensing, social status, or job title must come to class with NO WEAPONS OF ANY TYPE.
