Training - Tactical Handgun
Tactical use of a firearm may be critical to the professional who must use their training in the performance of their job. It is just as important to the average citizen who uses his/her skills to protect themselves or their family. This course is structured to teach the public or private sector the tactical use of a firearm in a lethal encounter. The skills needed to clear a path and fight your way to a loved one, or a downed partner may be critical to you. We cannot choose when or where the fight may occur, so we prepare for it before hand. If you have a need for these skills this course is for you!
Course length is 8-10 hours. DO NOT BRING LIVE AMMUNITION INTO THE CLASSROOM!
You will need to bring:
- Minimum 150 rounds of ammunition
- Eye protection rated z-71 or z-87 (Check the lens or frame for z-71 or z-87, we have loaners)
- Hearing protection of -26 db (Check the instructions for noise reduction, we have loaners)
This course will cover:
- Review of safety fundamentals
- Review of basic handgun handling and manipulation
- Review of defensive pistol use
- Use of cover
- Malfunctions
- Failure to stop drills
- Unconventional firing positions
- Shooting from a vehicle
- Moving from cover to cover
- Low light techniques
- Transition to rifle or shotgun
- Tactical reloading/Emergency reloading
This course DOES qualify for 4 hours of CEU training required by Missouri Department of Professional Registration.
